DEPARTMENT OF Civil Engineering


Construction Technology is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. Construction Technology is the oldest engineering discipline aftermilitary engineering. It is traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines including environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal engineering, surveying, and construction engineering. Construction Technology takes place on all levels: in the public sector from municipal through to federal levels, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies. Necessity has demanded for Construction Engineers and hence the department of construction Technology was started in this institute from the academic year 2009-2010. The department is at present conducting one diploma course.

Civil Engineering Department offers Diploma, Under Graduate and Post Graduate programmes.
M.Tech. in Civil Engineering

Course Duration: 4 (Four) Years

CONCRETE AND MATERIAL TESTING LABORATORY: Concrete Laboratory is equipped with the following instruments:
(1) Flow table (2) Vibration table (3) Universal Testing Machine (UTM) (4) Compression testing machine. (CTM) (5) Thickness gauge (6) Length gauge (7) Crushing value apparatus (8) Relative Density apparatus (9) Aggregate impact tester. (10) Slump test apparatus (11) Compaction factor test apparatus.
TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING LABORATORY: Transportation Engineering Laboratory is equipped with the following instruments:
(1) Los Angeles apparatus (2) Marshall apparatus (3) Modified roughness indicating machine (4) Plate bearing test apparatus (5) Ductility testing machine (6) Standard penetration test apparatus (7) Ring and ball apparatus (8) G.I Sieves.
COMPUTER LABORATORY: Computer Laboratory is Equipped with following software:
AutoCAD, MATLAB, andis in process of incorporating the following: STAAD Pro (For structure and Geotechnical Lab), MXROAD (For highway/Transportation Lab), ArchiCAD (For Building Planning and Construction) and MSProject (For Project Management).
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY: Environmental Engineering Laboratory is equipped with the followinginstruments/reagents:
